What is a video wall controller?

The video wall controller is a professional graphics station equipped with the required number of output ports for multiple video wall modules and a number of inputs for various signal sources. Thus, the main task of the video wall controller is to receive a video signal (including from several sources) and transmit it to each of the individual video wall panels.

In order to broadcast a high-quality image to a single video wall canvas, a working area of the screen is formed inside the controller, taking into account the resolution of all panels together. In addition, thanks to the video wall controller, loss and distortion of the transmitted information are eliminated. This happens due to the fact that the controller transmits the image to each individual module taking into account the entire “picture” and the design features of the video wall (for example, the exact size of the intermodule seam).

When should you buy a video wall controller?

You should buy a video wall controller at least to protect yourself from various failures in the transmission of the video signal. It is the high level of information protection, the absence of distortions, and the extended functionality that distinguish video wall controllers from alternative control options such as a video server. In addition, the controller’s specialization allows you to combine signals from several different sources and display them in separate, freely scalable windows.
